Recording Studio, Department of Music Science FF MUNI

During the reconstruction of the auditorium, we created a multi-purpose space that can be used as a recording studio or a teaching space with the possibility of student presenting audio, audiovisual and multimedia realizations and projects. As part of the reconstruction, we provided building modifications, room acoustics and all AV equipment.

In order to be able to use the space for various purposes, it was necessary to provide variable acoustics of the studio. As part of the project, we therefore designed
a system for artificially extending the reverberation time. However, the acoustic parameters of the room can also
be slightly adjusted using a double system of window blinds with different degrees of sound absorption.

The entire studio is operated by the director’s room which also serves as a specialized classroom for future sound engineers.

As part of the reconstruction, we also addressed building acoustics to prevent the spread of noise to the facilities adjacent to the studio.

For optimal acoustic conditions, we have equipped the premises with custom-made acoustic elements and its production was ensured by our CNC machine.
