Relating to the trend of digitalization of video signal distribution, the Archbishopric of Prague has decided to keep up and replace an analogue camera system at St. Vitus Cathedral with a modern digital system with Full HD resolution. We have designed this system for them. Video signals are going to be available for organists as a preview, used as effect and complementary footage for TV Noe broadcasts, for newly designed mobile preview displays and for online streaming of events in the cathedral.
Four existing analogue cameras are going to be replaced by new Sony EHD – 65SDI fixed Full HD cameras with HD-SDI output, camera positions and shots are going to be identical with the original system. A new Full HD PTZ camera is going to be added to the system, it is going to be used as a main video source for the preview system and online streams and it will be connected to the system with a UTP/optical hybrid cable. Signal from fixed cameras is going to be transmitted via newly installed HD-SDI coaxial/UTP hybrid cable in a color specified by monument care. For the control of the PTZ cameras is going to be used a camera controller that communicates with the cameras via VISCA Protocol.
