For the language department of the University of Ostrava we designed and implemented a special complex for lectures of interpreting, which consists of an interpreting laboratory with 9 interpreting booths, a lecture hall for 120 students and a small training room with an interactive whiteboard for staff.
- We had to design a system with functions beyond classical interpreting so that the teacher could interfere into the interpreting and instruct the students in specific cabins.
- Students have in their cabins interpreting desks, which enable them to communicate with the teacher in addition to interpreting.
- Teaching can be recorded, errors can be studied, and thanks to that it is possible to improve the interpretation process.
- The lecture room is signal-linked to the interpreting laboratory and it is equipped with wireless interpreting sets for listening to the interpretation.
